Team Member Spotlight: Meet Jennifer
May 31, 2022

At AVB, we pride ourselves on our experienced and talented team members. Each person personifies our Core Values—Do the Right Thing, Be Client Focused, Have a Positive Attitude, Be Proud of What We Do, and Be a Team Player!

We are grateful for our talented, hardworking, and overall awesome team and want to shine a spotlight on each of them. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Jennifer, Residential New Home Consultant, who’s positive attitude and passion for creating the perfect home shines through in all she does.

Jennifer guides clients through the home buying process from their first inquiry to completion of their new home. The process includes home site selection, floor plan customization, option selection and pricing, financing assistance, and finish selection assistance. Jennifer has over 20 years residential consulting, marketing and new home construction experience and holds a B.A. in Interior Design with a concentration in Building Construction Management from Michigan State University.

Fun facts about Jennifer: she was a regularly appearing artist on an HGTV show called “Treasure Makers”.  She’s lived on the east coast, west coast, in the south and the Midwest. About 7 years ago, she sold most of her belongings and spent almost a year traveling the US, including Hawaii all while home schooling her two boys.  After that adventure, she landed back in Kalamazoo (which is, for the most part, where she grew up) and has since gained a bonus son and daughter.  Together, Jeremy and Jennifer have three boys, 13, 13 and 17 and a daughter who’s 10.  Add to that two big goofy dogs, Winston and Scarlet, and you have a very happy, chaotic, loud, full life!

“I think having lived in many different places helps particularly when a client is relocating from another part of the country because I know what types of materials and styles are the norm where they are coming from.  The nuances of what is considered “typical” or “normal” in various regions is fascinating.  I also find that having navigated the transition to a blended family myself really helps me to understand the specific needs/concerns/desires of some of my clients who may be purchasing their first home together as a newly blended family.  There’s an extra level of worry for clients in that situation that everyone feels that the new home is theirs, and that their needs and wants are considered and respected.  It brings me great joy to have a client move into their home and tell me that the changes and customizations that I suggested or designed for them makes their daily life better.  It might be a small contribution in the grand scheme of things, but if I can help make someone’s life easier or better, then I’d like to think that allows them to go out into the world and do what they do just a little bit better.  It’s all part of being Client Focused.”
