COVID-19 and the Building Process
COVID-19 and the Building Process
September 21, 2020

COVID-19 has changed a lot of things for each one of us. It has impacted every aspect of our lives including our jobs and luxury activities, such as building your custom home. At AVB, we have taken many precautions to ensure the health and safety of our team, clients, subcontractors, and all other guests. Below we have listed a snap shot of the initiatives we have taken.

  • Each team member, subcontractor, client, and all other guests complete a QR COVID-19 symptoms test daily on each job site and at the main office.

  • When practical, we coordinate virtual meetings with team members and clients and reduce personal contact with any materials.

  • For in person meetings, we require face masks to be worn, social distancing is in full effect, and hand sanitizing is easily accessible.

  • Plastic shields are located at the front desk and all meeting rooms for extra protection.

  • All high-touch surfaces are cleaned daily at the office and our model homes are sanitized regularly.

Other than safety precautions, the building industry and process for our clients has changed. We want you to be aware of factors that may affect the construction process for you and your family.

  • There are now longer lead times for building materials causing extension of the building process.

  • Labor and material shortages throughout the industry cause delays and make it difficult to accurately predict home completion timeframes.

  • For those financing, getting loans approved and getting appraisals scheduled and complete are taking longer than before.

With all of the changes that the pandemic has brought, we are grateful for your understanding and your patience! “Normal life” may change, but we are still here to Build Something Better.
