In late August development partners AVB and The Hinman Company celebrated the groundbreaking for their exciting new mixed-use brownfield redevelopment planned in downtown Kalamazoo. This new four story building, which is scheduled for completion in 2020, is located at the corner of Rose Street and Lovell Street in Kalamazoo, directly adjacent to the Vine Neighborhood, and one block from Bronson Park and The Kalamazoo Mall. This new facility will feature 135 new studio, one bed, and two bed apartments, including 14 workforce housing units. It will also feature underground parking, a roof terrace, fitness room, and bicycle storage. Just in time for the fall semester, AVB completed the first floor renovation of Western Michigan University’s Ernest Wilbur Building to create a functional space for the new Doctorate of Physical Therapy program. This 14,000 square foot renovation features collaborative common areas, a common kitchen, tech-savvy classrooms, and refreshed clinical lab space.
