Kalamazoo County Court House Tour

1440431367655[1].jpg

On Tuesday, April 14th, AVB and project architect Tower Pinkster provided an opportunity for current, previous, and prospective clients as well as employees of the Kalamazoo Circuit Court to tour the new Gull Road Justice Complex under construction on Gull Road. The tours were led by AVB Project Superintendent Mark Kirschman, Project Manager Ryan Leaser, and Tower Pinkster Project Architect Eric Hackman.

Over 50 representatives from various public and private entities from across the country joined the tour. Additionally many team members from Kalamazoo Circuit Court Trial Division, as well as Kalamazoo Circuit Court Family Division were able to see their future home taking shape while under construction. Attendees were given a safety brief and outfitted with proper personal protective equipment to ensure their safety as they were guided through the in-progress project.

The tour took attendants through the future courtrooms, meeting spaces, judge’s chambers and offices that are all contained in the 81,000 SF building. One of the highlights of the new building design is the ability to keep the building segregated into three sections: public, court officials, and defendants. These three groups, for safety and security purposes, only join in meeting spaces or courtrooms, and each group has their own doors to enter and exit these spaces. The tour guides also elaborated on the soundproofing features of the project which will allow for increased privacy in court rooms and meeting spaces.

AVB is proud of the efforts of the entire team on this large and important project and looks forward to sharing this fine facility with the entire community as the building construction finalizes.

Grand Opening: Bridgeview at Angels Crossing

AVB had a successful grand opening at our newest condominium community, Bridgeview at Angels Crossing, on Sunday, April 19th. In addition to the new condominium homes, AVB has upgraded the community site by adding an improved entry statement and boulevard. Other improvements include new paving, a cul-de-sac, new street lighting, and over $150,000 in berms, enhanced landscaping, irrigation, and trees.

Bridgeview overlooks one of West Michigan’s most beautiful golf courses, Angels Crossing Golf Club, which boasts spectacularly manicured greens and fairways backdropped by breathtaking natural. The new community is less than 5 minutes from the historic downtown area of Vicksburg, provides easy access to US-131, and is less than 15 minutes from Portage! Downtown Vicksburg is a bustle of activity with the many shops, restaurants, and a farmers market. Vicksburg also has many parks and nature walkways for residents to enjoy.

The new condominiums and community will be available to view select Fridays 6-9, Saturdays 1-4, and Sundays 12-3, with the exception of holidays. These new condominiums will be on display during the Parade of Homes beginning June 12th through June 20th!  An AVB hostess will be available during the hours of operation to answer any questions during your visit to the Bridgeview homes and the Angels Crossing community. Corner @ Drake Update

Even after the recent completion and opening of the 15 acre Costco at the Corner@Drake development this fall, the project is expected to grow significantly in the coming year. The 40 acre project master plan continues to be shaped to accommodate the best possible combination of retailers.  Corner@Drake has created a Kalamazoo hot spot for retail right off of highway 131 at Stadium.

The master plan calls for a mix of restaurants and retail spaces. AVB is currently in negotiations with several retail prospects and expects to break ground on one to four of the ten potential sites this summer. More information should be breaking on this exciting project soon, so keep your eye on the Corner!
