Consumers Credit Union Headquarters

AVB is building Consumers Credit Union’s new headquarters in The Groves in Oshtemo Township! This 89,194 square foot building will feature three stories and include loan departments, executive offices, a call center and a data center. A three-story parking structure will accompany the headquarters, adding 107,804 square feet to the building footprint. Currently, construction crews are preparing to start installing 460 tons of reinforcing steel for the post tension concrete in the parking garage. Construction will also include 920 tons of structural steel and 8,230 cubic yards of concrete. Eventually there will be approximately 310,000 square feet of drywall going up. The new headquarters will also feature three elevators, raised access flooring and all LED lighting. Consumers Credit Union’s new Oshtemo headquarters is scheduled to be compete in the Fall of 2017. Walden Woods Phase II

Walden Woods, our popular west side Kalamazoo condominium community, is filling up fast. The newest phase, which opened in October of last year, already has 10 sold home sites. With homes backing the popular Arboretum trails and featuring gorgeous wooded and natural views, this is a great area of the community! This phase is in close proximity to the community pool and clubhouse, which features a full kitchen and caterer’s kitchen, fitness center, classroom, and covered outdoor patio.

The New Corner Shoppes@Drake

The new Corner Shoppes@Drake will include 20,000 square feet of retail space in two separate buildings. There will be inline and endcap space with drive-through areas available in the new center. Construction on the Corner Shoppes has already begun, with completion scheduled for Winter of 2016.  Tenant negotiations are ongoing and we expect the new available shopping center spaces to fill quickly. AVB Welcomes Old National Bank to the Corner@Drake

Old National Bank is building a new Regional Headquarters here in the Corner@Drake! The new headquarters is 15,000 square feet and will include a banking center and customer loan offices on the lower level with corporate regional offices on the upper level. Old National Bank celebrated the beginning of construction the first Tuesday in June with a ground breaking event. The ceremony included words from the Michigan Regional President Phillip Harbert and the traditional breaking ground photos

Progress Continues at Whisper Rock

We have made a lot of exciting progress on our new condominium community in Portage, Whisper Rock. The concrete curbs are finished, creating the framework for the community and outlining the freshly poured asphalt roads. Later this summer, as we head into the final steps of building this exciting new community, we will begin accepting reservations for home sites.

Future residents will be able to walk to restaurants, shopping centers, recreational facilities and more. The new available home sites, offer a variety of views including water, wetlands, and woods.

Barrington Shores Final Phase Now Available

Phase VI of our private 175 acre community, Barrington Shores, is well on its way! This community, encompassing Duck Lake, features a swimming pool and pool house with screened verandah, tot playground, sledding hill, and a basketball/tennis court. The wooded home sites offer quiet, private yards and beautiful scenery. The 7 acres of community parks are for the exclusive use of all residence and the paved recreational community pathway is accessible throughout the community.

The last phase is nestled around the lush green space of Darby’s Park.  With five home sites currently sold and one reservation, there are only 15 home sites left! This is the last opportunity to be part of this one of a kind community.

Updates from Team AVB

AVB has welcomed several highly qualified people to our team in the past few months.

We have welcomed a new Monroe Brown intern, Ben Lawson. He is currently working with our commercial construction team while attending WMU as he works to complete his degree in Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering.

We have also welcomed a new residential staff accountant, Kayce Geering. She will be assisting Beth Lehmer as she transitions into her new role as a commercial accountant. We are excited to welcome Kayce to our team.

Todd Blamer has joined our team as our new residential framer. With over 20 years of experience as a framer and as an AVB subcontractor, he is a welcome addition to our team.

Josie Marshall, our former Monroe Brown intern and sales and marketing assistant, has been promoted as our new home sales consultant. Josie has been with AVB for four years and has recently graduated from WMU’s Lee Honors College with her Bachelor of Business degree in Management . We are excited to see Josie excel in her new position.

Emily Rininger, our former marketing intern, has also been promoted as our new marketing coordinator. After recently graduating from WMU with her Bachelor of Business degree in Marketing we are happy to have her on our team.
