Purdue University Fort Wayne celebrated the ribbon cutting of Trace on August 17, marking the opening of a new residential community on the university's North Campus. Developed through a public-private partnership, the project was created to help meet the growing demand for on-campus housing as PFW continues to expand its residential experience. Trace includes 601 beds across 176 apartment-style units and offers a variety of amenities designed to support student life and foster community.
University leaders highlighted the impact the project will have on students and the region. During the ceremony, Chancellor Ron Elsenbaumer described Trace as an investment in both the university's future and the future workforce of Northeast Indiana, noting that the new housing community will create additional opportunities for students to live, learn, and build their futures at PFW.
AVB served as the design-builder on the project, working alongside Gilbane, Progressive AE, and the broader project team to deliver this transformative addition to campus. The ribbon cutting marked the culmination of years of planning, collaboration, and construction, and it was rewarding to celebrate alongside our project partners and the Purdue Fort Wayne community.
This milestone represents more than the completion of a building. It signifies a new chapter for Purdue Fort Wayne as it continues its transition from a commuter campus to a more residential university experience, creating opportunities for students to connect, thrive, and call campus home.
Mattawan Consolidated Schools recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its Middle School renovation and addition project, a component of the district's 2024 bond program. The project will modernize learning environments, enhance building functionality, and create spaces designed to support students and staff for years to come.
The ceremony marked an especially meaningful milestone for the district, taking place nearly 50 years after the groundbreaking of the current middle school. Community members, district leadership, staff, and project partners gathered to celebrate the start of a project that will help prepare the school to serve future generations of Mattawan students.
AVB is serving as Construction Manager for the project and is proud to partner with Mattawan Consolidated Schools throughout the planning and construction process. As work gets underway, we look forward to helping bring the district's vision to life and creating an updated learning environment that supports educational excellence across the community.
