The exterior of your home is what you come home to every day and is the first thing your guests see when they come over. To keep your home in tip top condition, we chatted with our Customer Care Manager on tips he recommends when it comes to exterior home maintenance.
Check all spigots/hose bibs for proper operation
Check all vents on the outside for pests
Check all caulked areas – windows & counter flashings
Check integrity of all painted surfaces
Ensure gutters & downspouts are adequate and remove debris, if needed
Inspect all roof & chimney areas for damage
Inspect all concrete – porches, patios, walkways, driveways
Trim back any trees too close to the home
Power wash the exterior
Check deck integrity of platform & structure
Fire up irrigation system & check adjustment of each head
Switch field on septic system & switch valve if you have alternating valve; every 3 years, pump the tank
