AVB was selected as the construction manager for the addition to the Continental Linen Service building in Kalamazoo. The 11,000 SF addition to an existing 53,000 SF facility was constructed to house additional industrial-sized dryers for the uniform cleaning portion of CLS’ business. Multiple containment areas around large brine tanks and other products used in CLS’ process were also included in the addition. Finally, pits in the slab on grade were constructed for additional containment capacity. The original design was a pre-engineered metal building that, due to lead time concerns and schedule constraints, AVB worked with the owner and design team to pivot to a conventional structural steel frame.
