650 Trade Centre

July's AVB Featured Project

Built to meet LEED gold certification standards, this 105,000 square foot, five story, Class A office is the third Class A office building to join the Trade Centre Development in Portage. In addition to joining the current Trade Centre office buildings, it joins a Courtyard by Marriott Hotel and a Hilton Homewood Suites Hotel.

Scheduled for completion in spring 2018, the new office space has amodern brick and glass façade that compliments the aesthetic set by the previous buildings. Features include first-class common areas, a fitness center, and peaceful views of the natural wetlands. Local AIA Chapter Tours New Consumers Credit Union Headquarters

AVB and Consumers Credit Union welcomed the local Kalamazoo area American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapter to tour the new Consumers Credit Union Headquarters, located in Kalamazoo Valley's ‘The Groves’ campus.

This 90,000 square foot headquarters features a stunning glass curtain wall, which spans 400 feet long and 50 feet tall. This three story building also features a unique raised access flooring system throughout the workspaces that provides future flexibility as well as individual control of air flow at each work station. These are just a few of the many unique features the AIA chapter was able to view in this ongoing project.

The new Consumers Credit Union Headquarters will include loan departments, executive offices, a call center and a data center. The project is scheduled for completion in December of this year.

Borgess Announces New Behavioral Crisis Center

Ascension Borgess Health celebrated their new AVB built Behavioral Crisis Center last month with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Created as an 8-bed behavioral crisis center, this new addition to the Borgess Health Main Hospital is part of the Borgess Emergency Trauma Center but separated by doors and intended to offer dignified care and privacy.

The new center is designed to have reduced traffic flow and a quieter atmosphere to provide a safe and healing environment for behavioral crisis patients. A specific waiting area for families is included within the new center and each of the beds is equipped with sound dampening and a television to help sooth the patients while they receive the appropriate care.

AVB is proud to be a long term partner with Ascension Borgess Health.
