On Sunday, April 17th, from 12-3 we are hosting a spring event in our Walden Woods Community! We will be showing our new Ashford and Highland floor plans. The Ashford is a 1,933 square foot plan with an additional 1,138 square foot finished lower level walkout. It features three beds and three full baths with gorgeous hardwood flooring throughout and a modern white kitchen. The Highland is 1,490 square feet on the main level. It will feature 2 beds and 2 full baths. The Highland model is still under construction, but this event is a great opportunity to get a feel for the floor plan and the surrounding community! These homes can be built in five AVB neighborhoods. Come out to tour these two new model homes, the Ashford will only be available to view for a limited time! We are excited to be starting our Greenspire Apartments Phase 5 development! With the site work well underway we will soon begin the foundations of the first three of six new planned buildings. These new apartments will be modern apartment living. A total of 76 units are planned for this phase, including a total of 35 private garages. During the site work, AVB had to move 18,000 cubic yards of fill from our nearby Whisper Rock Development! Run with AVB during the Borgess Run for the Health of It on May 8th!

AVB has completed construction and the new Consumers Credit Union Branch at the Corner@Drake is now open! This two story branch is one of a kind and the first two story branch in Kalamazoo. The main level includes tellers and a customer service area, while the upper level is a mix of private and open offices. Joining the two levels is a beautiful curved staircase. The interior design takes cues from the exterior, including brick interior walls instead of drywall and aluminum and glass doors instead of wood.
AVB is proud to have completed this 6,082 square foot branch on time and under budget. This is a great addition to the Corner@Drake development and to the Kalamazoo Community. We enjoyed working with both the architects, Bosh Architecture, and Consumers Credit Union!
AVB has gone to Big Rapids to help the Ferris State University Bulldogs Build Something Better on campus! The two new student housing buildings will be wood framed town homes consisting of 56 total four bedroom two bathroom units. The AVB team has completed the south building’s frame and rough in of the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing and are gearing up to start insulating and dry-wall. While the south building continues to come together, the north building is just finishing its framing and is in the process of beginning the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing rough in process. During the site work for this project, AVB had to remove and replace the equivalent of 9,000 cubic yards of unsuitable soil before starting foundations. With the help of FSU’s GIS mapping technology, and the experience of the AVB team, we were able to quickly work through the contaminated soil and old existing infrastructure under the building footprint to keep the project on schedule. Borgess Health is a certified primary stroke center and in 2006 opened the region's only dedicated neuroscience institute.
The 45,000 square foot medical facility is enveloped in glass housing. The exterior includes approximately 15,000 square feet of custom fabricated aluminum curtain-wall and approximately 7,500 square feet of profiled siding panels. This $10+ million dollar institute features state-of-the-art imaging and medical technologies.
